CONFLICT MINERAL POLICY

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and its surrounding countries: mining of rare metals such as gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn) and tungsten (W) in Angola, Burundi (Burundi), Central African Republic (CAR), Republic of Congo (ROC), Rwanda (South Sudan), Tanzania (Tanzania), Uganda and Zambia (Zambia) has caused serious human rights and environmental concerns. The sale of these minerals may have provided financial support for the ongoing armed conflict in these countries, leading to long-term instability in the region, so the four minerals produced in these countries and regions are called "conflict minerals".
